4 Reasons Why It’s a Great Time to Visit Vegas
I don’t have any partnerships with any travel sites (yet) so take this in the spirit of experienced observation: Right now is a Great time to visit Vegas. This is despite the fact that conventions pick up speed a bit. If this is your first trip, due to the conventions, I’d stay at an off-Strip or specialty hotel (all-suites or inclusive resorts).
My suggestions would be Red Rock, the Palms or, for the thrifty traveler, the Orleans.
Any time the economy appears to take a dive, it’s a great time to visit Vegas or any other resort town. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and the people who want you to come visit get a cue from a struggling economy to step up their game.
Especially if you like to gamble, unless there’s a full blown Depression, the time to go to Vegas won’t get any better. Fewer people there to gamble means that if you do gamble, there’s more of a chance you’ll be schmoozed by a casino host, in the hopes of extending your stay. Even if you don’t, well, see the next tip to see how that works in your favor, still.
Gambling revenue is down in Vegas, though constant in Reno. When local gambling money goes down, deals go up as casinos will react by trying to get more consumer traffic in addition to the business travel revenue.
Expert tip: If you see anything that appears to be a feature attraction having a slow time, ask if you can try it, even if you think they’ll say no. You may get anything from a limo ride at a taxi price (or free!) to a spa treatment to a suite upgrade.
As a result, it will be easier to get comped, find deals, and get treated like a Mercedes client at Toyota prices.
Fall and Winter are the peak flight seasons that means better travel deals. Summer is when all the cheap folk come to Vegas. The Strip always seems busier in the summer, with so many people packing it on foot, but actual peak time is the last six months of the year.
Surprising, because the Strip always looks much emptier during the week in the Fall.
The weather in Vegas is fantastic. The temperature for today is 95 degrees, but as a dry heat it feels more like 85 - 88.
If you can afford a Vegas trip, trust me, this is the time to both save money and have a happier time.
